We had a great week. I hope the new homework plan worked out for your child. A reminder, you need to sign your student's agenda after they have read their 20 minutes for the day.
The kids got a break from Vocabulary this week. We will pick it up next week with a test on Friday.
They didn't get a break from the multiplication facts test. PLEASE study with or have your kids hop on math magician to practice their facts. It is important for them to have them memorized. It only gets harder from here if they don't know them. We also worked on inequalities, unknown numbers in multiplication and patterns. Next week we will work on graphing and more multiplication review.
Our Fall Festival is on Monday 10/31. We will have pumpkin activities and a book character parade. Your child is welcome to dress up as their favorite character from a book. Please be sure to send in any donations you signed up for. The signup genius is linked under USEFUL LINKS so take a look if you need a reminder. I look forward to seeing some of you when you come volunteer. We still need 2 more donated pumpkins. Please sign up if you can.
In Writing, we worked on our Spooky Stories. The students did a great job using descriptive words and imagery in their stories. Next week we will do opinion writing.
We started a government unit in Social Studies. We will be learning about the election process, local and federal government, citizens and the 3 branches of the government over the next couple weeks.
I have updated my wish list. The most pressing need is Headphones for listening to reading. I have NONE. School doesn't provide them. They are a great tool for listening to reading during ELA center time.
Don't forget to collect and send in your Box Tops!
Thank you to all coming to Open House. It was nice to meet you. Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.
