Happy Track out!
Report cards went home on Friday. Please review with your child, sign the envelope and return to school. Your children worked hard and you should be proud of them.
We finished up the second quarter studying Holiday traditions from around the World. Each student (some with partners) researched a country and popular holiday traditions in that country. They created a paper brochure and then transferred it to a presentation on Google slides. They can show it to you by going into Mrs. Fountain's links msfountain.weebly.com/quick-links.html on the Middle Creek Website to the google link. They will need their student google email and password (lunch number). They worked very hard and I'm proud of them. We ran out of time on Friday so they will present them when we get back from vacation in January.
In Math we worked for a week on Area and perimeter. We will revisit those measurement standards when we return as well as explore fractions. PLEASE continue to practice those multiplicaton facts during track out.
In ELA we finished up The BFG . It was fun to read together and watch the movie together.
Coming in January we will compare nonfiction to fiction and mysteries, as well as introducing literature circles and planet research projects.
The pictures below are from the reader's theater on Thanksgiving and presentation of graphing project from the day before Thanskgiving. The students worked hard on their projects and I loved listening to them present them.
Have a safe and happy holiday!! See you in 2017!
